In rice farming, most methane is released when the field stays flooded without interruption. Alternate wetting and drying fixes that: let the water fall below the soil surface by a set depth before pumping again. But doing it properly means knowing where the water level is, every day, in every plot.
The CAS device solves exactly that. A graduated tube sits submerged in the field while the level sensor and wireless transmitter send readings back to the system — so whoever manages the field knows when to pump without wading out to look. For a rice-growing household this means saving water and pumping electricity. For a carbon credit project, it is the evidence.
